A Purpose-Built Safety & Ergonomic Upgrade for BMW Police Motorcycles
The RDI CommRocker (Patent Pending) was designed to address a critical limitation of the factory police motorcycle communication switch: accessibility while riding.
The factory rocker switch can require the rider to shift hand position or reach away from a natural riding grip to activate radio communications. During active riding, even a small change in hand position can reduce comfort, control, and the rider’s ability to keep their attention focused on the road.
The RDI CommRocker replaces the factory communication rocker switch while retaining the OEM switch housing. Its extended, ergonomically designed lever positions the communication control closer to the rider’s thumb, allowing important radio functions to be activated by rocking the lever forward or backward.
The result is a simple but important improvement: the rider can operate the communication system while maintaining a more natural hand position on the handlebar and clutch controls.
By bringing the communication control within easier thumb reach, the RDI CommRocker helps:
Reduce unnecessary hand movement while riding
Minimize the need to shift or compromise the rider’s grip
Keep the rider’s hand closer to the clutch and primary motorcycle controls
Provide faster, more intuitive access to radio communications
Reduce distraction associated with reaching for the factory control
Improve overall ergonomics during routine and emergency communications
For motorcycle officers who depend on radio communication while simultaneously managing traffic, road conditions, and motorcycle controls, communication equipment should work with the rider—not require the rider to adapt their riding position to the equipment.
The RDI CommRocker was purpose-built around that principle.
Compatibility: Designed for BMW Police motorcycles, model years 2014–2026, equipped with the compatible OEM communication switch housing.
